Is there anyway we can get a notification through the app when there’s an update, so we can do it before sitting down to play?

If on ChessUp 2 - when you turn the board on it will notify you.

If on ChessUp 1 - when you startup the board, it tells the app what firmware it has, and only then does it notify you.

You do not need to setup either board, just need to start them up.

I know it notifies when one’s available on the 2.

I just meant so we could install beforehand. Rather than waiting once we’ve sat down to play.
