After experiencing a couple issues i went back to pc play on chess com, I’m discovering for some reason, i play better on my board, i honestly thought the opposite would have been true but i feel like i play way better on the board
I think it is a combination of a few things.
First, it forces you to slow down. You have to move the other piece before you can move, it’s not just a “reaction” mouse click.
Second, the 3D pieces (IMHO) make your brain calculate better. I have no proof of this, but my game has gone up steadily (slow, but steady) since I have been playing with a physical board (even before e-boards).
Third, it makes the game more fun - you get to actually move real pieces, not just click, click, click on the monitor/screen. When you’re having fun, you do better.
Obviously just my opinions, but I truly think most people do play better chess when using a regular board to make the moves.
And Chessup offers (again, IMHO) the right size of board/pieces to use consistently.
When I play on computer I tend miss blunders etc just don’t see the board on screen as well as on a physical board
Makes sense you would play better and enjoy it. Once I get a game or two with the board vs screen I feel better to orientation of the pieces and the non-2d screen mode. Glad you are enjoying it
So many times I pull back a blunder after holding the piece in the bad move square - but not letting go - saves a lot of rating points. I like to see the piece in the move square as it helps to visualize the resulting line.
In my opinion, the best feature of the ChessUp 2 board is that it doesn’t send the move until you release the piece. It’s a massive improvement compared to other boards like the Chestnut, where you have to be quick; otherwise, you risk sending a wrong move to the server, even if a delay is set up.
Unfortunately, that is a crutch that can hurt in Tournament play. I always feel guilty when I do it with my chessup!
