:blue_book: ChessUp Wikipedia Page — Draft Submitted for Review

Hey everyone :waving_hand:

Just wanted to share a quick update — I’ve officially submitted a Wikipedia draft for ChessUp to help make the project more discoverable worldwide :globe_showing_europe_africa::chess_pawn:

:link: You can view it here: Draft:Chessup
(Currently pending review — it may take up to 2 months before it’s approved.)

The goal is to document ChessUp’s development, features, and community history in one place, with reliable sources and a neutral tone.
While it’s waiting for review, the draft is still open for normal editing — so if anyone wants to help refine or add references, feel free to contribute!

Thanks to everyone helping to grow the ChessUp ecosystem and community visibility :folded_hands:
Let’s make sure ChessUp is properly represented on Wikipedia for the world to find.

What do you all think about having ChessUp represented on Wikipedia?
Any editors here who’d like to help expand or polish the draft? :speech_balloon:

Update: Wikipedia draft status (11 November 2025)

Hey everyone :waving_hand:

Quick update on the ChessUp Wikipedia draft:

The draft was reviewed on 11 November 2025 and the submission was declined for now.
The main reason is that it currently doesn’t have enough independent, in-depth, reliable secondary sources about ChessUp (for example: serious reviews, news articles, or interviews that focus on the board).

The good news is that the draft is not deleted – it can be improved and resubmitted once the sourcing is stronger.

How you can help

  1. Share independent sources
If you know of any of these, please drop links in this thread:

    • in-depth online or print reviews of ChessUp
    • news or magazine articles that cover ChessUp
    • interviews, long-form blog posts, or videos from reputable outlets
  2. Edit the draft directly (if you’re comfortable with Wikipedia)
If you have a Wikipedia account and some editing experience, feel free to:

    • add solid references to the article
    • improve wording, structure, or neutrality
    • expand sections like history, development, reception, etc.

Just go here and click “Edit”:

  3. Suggestions welcome
If you’re not comfortable editing, you can still help by suggesting:

    • what sections you think the article should have
    • sources you’ve seen but can’t quite relocate
    • examples of similar board-game pages that we could model the structure after

Thanks again to everyone following this project and helping grow ChessUp’s visibility :folded_hands:
Once we’ve gathered a few strong sources and made improvements, I’ll submit the draft for review again and post another update here.
