Jeff, has the piece recognition been coded into captures yet? I checked the changelog and I don’t see it being mentioned specifically. I do see that work has been done on improving promotions so maybe it’s covered under that.
Yes that is in the firmware now. I think it was with 0.5.5 or somewhere around that.

Just received my ChessUp 2 today. Wow! It is such a nice board. I have ChessUp 1 and love it. The upgrades are great. The touch screen is perfect. The board is thinner and feels solid. Not that version one wasn’t, it just feels good even when placing the pieces down. A nice soft yet solid tactile feedback. The pawns are larger than version 1. I like that. They have a wider solid base. Less likely to fall over when playing fast. All the pieces are recognized perfectly. Connection to chess.com was easy and works well. I played a couple games against some bots and the board Ai. It works great. I am very pleased with the quality of the product and congrats to you Jeff for making this happen. For a person who prefers over the board play it really is ideal.
