From Chessnut to Chessup

The board arrived 3 weeks ago and I just like to say congrats the makers! What an amazing board. I had Chessnut boards before but this one is so much more fun and engaging, It’s standing on the table in the living room all the time and while I knew I would enjoy it, my son of 8 years is playing every day now and even my wife start to learn how to play the game.

Below you find a list of potential improvements:

Wow, what a fantastic story — thanks so much for sharing this here! :raising_hands:
Hearing that ChessUp did not just impress you but actually got your 8-year-old playing every day and even inspired your wife to learn chess is incredible. That is exactly the kind of experience that makes this board special — it brings people together around the game.

I am also really interested in the potential improvements you mentioned.
Whenever you are ready, feel free to share your list — ideas from real players like you and your family are extremely valuable for the whole community and for the future of ChessUp.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts — and I would love to hear more later about which features your son and wife enjoy the most too.

And I’m also curious — does your son enjoy the training modes more or the full-game matches on the board?

Hey! The potential improvements.. that was a joke  I couldn’t think of something. Of course I have the board new so I don’t experience technical issues but stability would be important!

My son is playing the full-game matches. He doesn’t speak English so can not follow the training. Playing matches with advice is really fun. The light effects make it extra special.

Would be nice if it is possible to play puzzles directly from the board as well as having training integrated in the board.

It already shows how a piece can move automatically; it’s more about preventing you from using other pieces once you’ve touched that one. That’s the part that would make the feature even better.
