I think it would be nice if you can come up with an accessory that locks in the bottom of the chessup 2 and allows you to rotate the board between one side of the other. It is a bit annoying to start a game and seeing you need to lift and rotate the board. Otherwise loving it so far
You may find something like this lazy Susan useful.
Nice setup! I will consider that idea.
I still think it would be nice if they made something specific for it, maybe even with a little compartment on the sides to store the promotion pieces
Thanks.
It would be cool to have a custom built lazy susan. Maybe like a box with a drawer on both sides for the pieces.
Such a nice idea!
All you need is a rotating plate for a few euros, like the kind you use for plants. Most people probably use it for their chess computers. As far as accessories and devices go, I’ll probably buy from Bryght Labs again, assuming the board really proves itself in the next few months Translated by google
I agree with you that a simple Susan do the trick. However, ChessUp team should consider integrating it in their future board. Or as suggested here, to custom built one specifically for the board. It may also be cool to have it motorized (automatically rotate the board conditionally to your assigned color) but not really necessary.
Updated : Also maybe add a lock mechanism to avoid the board to flip when playing. It doesn’t move that much with a standard lazy susan but why not add something to lock it in place while you play.
My opinion and I am sure the ppl with an Lazy Susan is that this is perfect. The 12 inch is perfect with ChessUp and trust me there is no Lock mechanisme needed to play. Never ever had a problem with it.
The problem if they build it in and it gets brocken you board is…
And why build an custom one if the 12 inch is perfect for a few dollars?
Again my opinion
I have the lazy susan as well and going to stick with it. Just saying that maybe a custom one with some nice goodies is not a bad idea. Why not sell this accessories and do some more money with it. I mean, many of us have purchased the promotion pack even if we are probably never ever going to use it.
Or maybe this should go in the third party accessories. I don’t know but just find that the idea is not bad.
This lazy Susan works perfect. It is strong and matches the board. Also, it slips into the ChessUp carry bag no problem. It’s super thin.
Just ordered this. I was losing so much time trying to move the board around each time
Do those not move around when you’re playing?
No, it doesn’t move or sometimes it can move a bit but really nothing disturbing. The only thing is some version do only come with anti-slip rubber under the Susan. I had to add some anti-slip rubber on top of mine.
My 12” Lazy Susan arrived today and I fitted felt to the bottom as per Criptix’s suggestion - works great
Nice! I also saw this one after I got the first replies and it already arrived. Have not tested a game yet but it looks like is gonna work really well. I still hope someone from chessup sees this and decides to make a proper one for it with some piece storage space, although then it probably won’t fit in the bag.
I fully agree this is needed. If I’m reading this post correctly, we’re talking about the ChessUp 2 system flipping the board automatically when you are assigned to play black. This shouldn’t be difficult to implement with a future software download…
I picked up one of these - really nice to be able to turn the board quickly.
