When 2 player mode is launched from the app, there are a lot of inconsistencies between what lights the app is displaying compared to what the board displays.
Overall, I think there is a communication issue between the app and the board.

The ChessUp 2 is mainly ment for board only.
You can use the app with ChessUp 2 but it can be buggy. It’s made for ChessUp 1 board, with ChessUp 2 they are working hard to let you play without the app and so without phone/tablet.
The most features will be build in the board itself. With the new lessons feature that is comming soon you will need the app for ex. because it uses sound.
That makes sense thanks for the clarification. I liked the ability to see the bar that indicates who is winning as well as the ability to adjust the assistance on the fly. Maybe updates will come in the future.
The analyse bar is comming to the board too. But plz be patient. A lot of users would want their request asap but only one or a few at a time is possible ofcourse.
But the bar will be on the board itself eventualy.
That’s great. No worries, glad to hear all of these features are coming.
They should display the exact same colors - not sure what happened with that position.
With ChessUp 2 - the phone can be used, but you can also use WiFi to get the hints from our server.
Thanks for the update. It happened quite frequently so we’re just using OTB for now. Hints were not working at all. I’m assuming that’s the crystal ball icon?
The crystal ball shows the future moves the Chess Ai would make. So when you are curious why a move is red or green, it will show the playout.
Assistance itself just shows all the time when set up.
Ah ok. Thanks for clearing that up. Could that have caused the light mismatch?
How do hints work?
Yes I am not sure if the crystal ball and CU2 are hooked up correctly and it could case a mis-light. Thanks for reporting it.
For hints, you just set up assistance at the desired level - and play. You can explore each piece and view the hints that way.
At level 6, there is only one green move. We recommend that for study.
For assisted play, levels 2~5 work. You can see the guide of what each level means in the menu on the board.
Higher assistance, higher level of play.
