Hi, I’m trying to play two player mode today and couldn’t find how to start the clock or time control mode. It can be done over the app, but the clock doesn’t show on the built-in display. Is there a way to make it work?
In a similar vein, it would be awesome if you could see the clocks when you initiate a game from the app using chesscom, instead of having to look at your phone (and instead of having to have the distracting home menu displayed while you’re battling it out).
I know ppl will say that you dont need to start games from your phone, but I prefer it because a) I’ve had issues with the abandonment thing recently, b) there was an incident where I accidentally knocked some pieces over and couldn’t figure out where they were all supposed to go which ruined the game, and c) if I need to go do something elsewhere, I can continue playing the game on my phone and leave my board complertely to finish the game on my phone.
Yes that will be awesome. If the built in display can show the clock from the app, I can play things unavailable currently like 5+5 Blitz or lichees.
Bump to both issues listed in this thread. Using the chessup as a clock would be great when playing OTB with another human. Also showing time from app-initiated games would be nice.
Coming soon - OTB Clocks will be in a release this month (January).
@Jeff , no way to direct message you that I can find, but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate your efforts in this forum. I’m sure you and your team are running around with hair on fire still as you recover from the Chessup 2 launch, but the team has made a fantastic product, (with many unpolished edges thanks to the nature of crowdfunding and startups), and I’m overwhelmingly confident that it will continue to improve.
It’s been an absolute hit in our house since Santa delivered it. And I’m sure your metrics show the massive number of games being played on your boards compared with the relatively small number of customer complaints. Seeing your involvement here was a huge reason I felt confident making my purchase. Keep up the awesome work, and thank you.
Thanks and so glad to hear.
Yeah it is tough because for some customers many many games fail - and we are trying to resolve it ASAP. But quietly we are about to cross 100,000 games played successfully as well. So the impression from the forums is that all is broken, but it is just some specific situations. Regardless of 1 or 1,000 people affected - we will get it working ASAP
