Chess.com login failed

I’ve just received my chess board today and played my first game vs a bot which went great. Now I wanted to login with chess.c om (the reason I bought the board). When I select chess.com on the board it says I have to login with the app. The app shows a 404 screen. When I press home on the app it shows that I am logged in, but when I select chess.com on the board the 404 message shows up on the app.

PS first thing I did was to update the board to version 4.2.9

PPS Lichess is working fine for me.

Likewise. Something went haywire around 10am ET on my end. I’m getting the same 404 screen. The app is not asking for permission to access my chess.com account. It’s letting me log in, but the board isn’t recognizing that fact. No connection between board and app on that front. No amount of deleting app/reinstalling app or turning off/on the board or signing in/out of chess.com helps.

I got my board two weeks ago and, when it works, it’s a technological marvel. Authentically, genuinely fabulous. But about 15% of the time the board stalls when trying to get a game online. Then login problems like today ensue. It’s a great product and I hope the customer service proves to be robust and effective.

There must be something down on chess.com side - we will follow up with them and resolve.

Chess.com pushed out an unintentional bug and then they were able to revert and fix it once aware.

These things happen from time to time.

Just report them here if it ever happens again.
