Chessconnect + Lichess game analysis

Hi everyone,

I recently discovered that ChessConnect now supports almost everything on Lichess!

As a beta tester, I’ve been playing some rapid rated games using the board, and so far the experience has been incredibly smooth. No issues whatsoever.

After each game, I’ve also been analyzing the moves with the board connected via the ChessConnect extension. Overall, the experience is great. The board lights up to show where the pieces should go when setting a position. To navigate through the moves, you use the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard, and the corresponding moves are highlighted on the board. When the physical board position matches the digital one, a sound and lights are triggered. After a while, this can get a bit annoying.

Today I reached this position (FEN):
6K1/7p/7k/7n/8/8/8/8 w - - 0 68

As you can see in the video, once White moves the king to g8, the board crashes. I’ve tested it several times, both from this game and from a blank analysis board, and the result is always the same. This position causes the board to crash while connected to ChessConnect on Lichess.

Is this something you would need to fix, or should I report it to Jörn?

Also, about the lights and sound every time the board matches the digital position, is there anything you can do to improve that part of the experience?

Finally, would it be possible to go forward to the next move just by playing it on the board? This works with Chessnut boards also connected to ChessConnect (tested on Chessnut Go). Takebacks don’t work there, but I understand going back is more complex than going forward.

If needed, I can report the board crash using the bug form. Just let me know.

Thank you!
