Love the opportunity to play lichess games on this board, this was long awaited, thanks for adding support.
However, during some of the games, the board is “freezing” up after the first move.
We can still continue the game on the mobile app or web, it is not timed out or anything. But since the board won’t detect any further moves and game also has already begun, we have to continue on the laptop or mobile to not lose rating points.
Is this already a known problem, are there any recommended fixes or incoming updates? We have all the latest updates installed.
Restarting the board, or relinking the user profile somewhat helps but prefer that we set it up once and it works “every time”.
We also only one or two games per day (longer time control), so we have to wait entire day to try and hope the next game could be entirely played on the chessup board.
Pictures showing game progressing well in iPad app but in chess up board, it is frozen and not detecting the moves. The game was started on chess up board, but cannot be played.
Hi, have you tried it without using the app? Because I don’t have any problems and have always used it without the app. I’ve played well over a hundred games on Lichess without any problems.
That’s great @Gratefuldave54 yes we try to play without the app. Once the board freezes up, then we login via the iPad app to check the status of the game.
We have played few games successfully, so this freezing is occasional but annoying to say the least : )
I received some instructions from chess up support to reset the board and create fresh new account. Will give that a try!

Have you played a many types of games on the board, like 2-player, bots, or on ChessDotCom, or have you mostly been playing on Lichess with your ChessUp2 so far?
