Chessiverse integration?

Hi all.

Just a thought but are there any plans for Chessiverse integration in the future? It would be great to have it on the menu screen as an option like Lichess etc.

Cheers!

We are working with chessiverse now to explore this. Good to hear there is support and demand.

Brilliant thanks Jeff!

I personally think it would be a fantastic option for people. Especially those who would like a change from playing live online.

Possibly not as much ā€˜demand’ as you might think. I could be wrong…but most people like to play other people.

Ai play actually outpaces online random play by a bit.

It’ll be another nice tool in the box if it comes off.

I too hope that Chessiverse gets added, here’s why.

As a beginner returning player, ( i had a break of about 30 years ) i have found that playing people stresses me out (at least for now) i get very nervous during play, this causes me to lose focus, miss tactics, get into time trouble, blunder then lose the game and then get depressed over it.

When i play the bots however, the opposite is true, i’m more relaxed, my calculation, focus and board vision ( 0n my Chessup 2 ) is much improved - leading to less blunders, more wins and enjoyable games and for me that’s what it’s all about - having fun with chess.

If someone can explain why this is so i’d be happy to know.

The Chessiverse bots are great fun to play and as i’m loving my Chessup 2 so much adding Chessiverse would be a big bonus as i much prefer OTB play to laptop. I’m very much looking forward to it so thanks in advance to the team at Chessup.!

Cheers.!

Dale.

At what rating level, roughly? I ask because apparently 10 min play is the most popular on chess.com, but aparently it’s because of the huge weak player base. As rating go up, people prefer faster time controls. I am making an educated guess that weaker players play AI bots…while as they get better, the prefer to test themselves again actual humans.

Is there any update on the progress of adding Chessiverse to ChessUp 2? It would be an amazing addition. Thanks for your work in making ChessUp 2 the best e-board out there!

If I can make a suggestion. If you use the chessconnect app and connect the board to that it’s possible to use chessiverse. Also Chessable. Try it out, I did found it a bit buggy on Android. But the start is there. Gone test myself a bit and give feedback on the chessconnect discord to help the dev improve it all.

Yes I use Chessconnect. However, after each game I have to turn off the board and reset to continue. It is a bit annoying.

Chessiverse integration is something that we are actively investigating.

Assuming this page isn’t correct (yet?) ?

Just how far along getting the integration in are you since Chessiverse seems to advertise this as already available feature?

Chessiverse is integrated directly into ChessUp — just open the Chessiverse app on your ChessUp board and you can start playing right away. No extra software or pairing needed; the bots play on the board itself.

I have the ChessUp 2 board but don’t see Chessiverse yet. Most likely it will be introduced in the next board update. I’m hoping! :folded_hands:t2:

I don’t think this is correct (yet?) I use chessiverse (amoung other sites) and asked them -maybe 3 months ago about coordinating with BryteLabs/chessup -like Chess.com & LiChess do. At the time they recommended using the chess extension in Chrome browser. However, that seemed not to work with the advent of ChessUp2 and the direct WiFi connection. . .(at least for me!) So this "just open the app (and btw there is no Android ā€œChessiverseā€ app - one can play via phone/tablet web browsers but no dedicated app (yet?) like Chess.com/LiChess. . . I think it would be a great add. the more chances and venues we can open to use OTB -even remotely, the better! :+1:

Chessiverse launch is almost ready.

Some of the marketing and information web pages were published in advance. I honestly didn’t expect anyone to find that. I can confirm there is a direct-on-ChessUp2 Chessiverse feature launching.

It will go to beta testers first - so if you want to join our beta test program, please email info@bryghtlabs.com with ā€œplease sign me up for beta testing groupā€ and your board serial number. Serial number is under Settings->About.

Chessup1 user here. We’ve been here since the beginning…that said, will we be invited to the ā€œChessiverse Partyā€ or will we be on the outside looking in? Thanks

I believe the chessconnect app will work with ChessUp 1 - and that works currently to use Chessiverse. But I have not tested it.

Blame it on the Google for indexing those pages Jeff

Anyways, good work as usual - Eagerly waiting for beta release
