Maybe I’m mistaken, but I cannot find an old-school manual, or documentation about how to use this product, as intended. There is no manual in the box, the only “docs” I can find are the “tutorials” on the website but those don’t describe the board functionality.
I don’t need endless paper, but I’m not sure I implemented the correct workflow yet. I played two games so far. What I did was link my chess.com (i expect that is one time only) and then:
1: click OTB new game
2: play the game
3: game is saved in my chess.com history. I don’t understand why I read on the forums that you need to start the game from the app on your phone in order to achieve that? That is not the case here?
4: analyze the game on the phone. Am I correct you need chess-com premium for the full review.
In other words, I don’t use the coloring system right now, for analyzing, because I did that on my iPhone?
I don’t use the board editor for this? Is it possible to use the board editor for the games that I played or should I manually find the positions again?
What’s the purpose of the board editor (apart from starting from a specific position, that i understand) and how does it relate to games that have been played?
In general, are there docs that have a readme on what i actually bought / what features are released? Because in no time, these topics are flying everywhere and 90% is probably fixed by then.
There is a set of tutorials on the ios/android app that may fill in some of the gaps.
As for Board Editor, the way I plan on using it (haven’t done it yet), is to set up the board on a position that I’d like to study (both from my games as well as from books), and come up with my plans. Then check it against the board engine to see what it recommends after I completed my analysis. The move, analyze, check, repeat until I am done.
Ahhhh wait, now I understand what you guys are talking about.
When you start a game from the board, the game appears at chess-com, but NOT in the Chessup app.
When you start a game from the Chessup app, the game DOES show in the history tab. This is a known bug, correct?

I have the urge to say that I’m a standard customer. Not a Kickstarter backer. So I have no clue what features should be on the board. But this makes sense as standard workflow, to analyse with the Chessup app instead of the chess-com app? Is that what the intention is?
And should the board light up when we analyse via Chessup app? Anybody tried that? Does that work as intended yet, because I felt kind of lost in the UI. Also the “synchronize with board” option seemed greyed out?
