Editing Opponent Detail for OTB

When playing Over the Board (OTB) games on the ChessUp 2, I would love the ability to change the name of who I played. Potentially even more details, like notes about game, date, time, location, and even a running counter of W/D/L. There is a golf app I use to track my rounds (Golfpad) and it has a feature for users to create mini “profiles” of other golfers they’re playing the round with (also has a pfp option). Is this at all on the docket for potential development? @Jeff

I believe we have name your opponent on the feature list to-do.

@JustinF - does the app have this yet or is it coming?

On Android, you can edit the name of your opponent for a few releases now. I love this option, it’s really neat

Editing the opponent name and date for OTB games should be available for iOS and Android. Adding notes is something in the list for consideration.

Why just the opponent?

It would be nice to be able to choose the player on the board for each side at the start of a game as there is no “main” player on our board. So choosing which family member is playing would be very useful.

I see now that I am able to edit the opponent’s name, but will the be the feature to change the icon and even have profiles?

This golf app “GolfPad” has a simple feature for when you are starting a round to add players on your score card. When you add a new player it give you the option to add a photo for the profile–pic.

Ex.

Now each time I start a round I can add previously made profiles to play with and track stats.

Therefore, what if when starting an OTB game with 2 players the initial calibration for the game settings includes the option to choose which profile is playing which color. The default could just have the main Chess.com account and no name for opponent.

Thoughts @Jeff ?

I have not used this rename feature so not sure on current implementation - but yeah I don’t think we currently save guest names for easier retrieval.

We can add it to the idea list.
