Is it possible to play against an opponent on the board without a Chess.com account? I guess it is, to play with children or beginner-level friends.
I would like to know how OTB works in this case, because when my unit arrives I expect to play with friends OTB with and without Chess.com profiles.
ChessUp 2 would be useful for them if players can still benefit from the move assistance for new players without an online account.
An option to analyze those games later would also be great, maybe in the board itself or in the ChessUp app, because I guess the game will not be added to Chess.com.
Thanks for this amazing product, I’m eager to get my hands on it!
Vs computer = play AI
Two players = what u looking for.
Boarde Editor.
When u lunch the Two Players u and the other player can play directly OTB and u can set the assistance level for White and for Black. So one side can have more assistance then the other.
These games are saved inside the ChessUp app games history tab when u connect the board with the app after the games. U can then analyse inside the app or export the pgn to a website or software.
Perfect! Thank you @Criptix for the illustrative photos.
If one player has a Chess.com account and the other doesn’t, we need to use the ChessUp Two Players menu anyway, right?
And in case both players have Chess.com accounts, in the Chess.com menu can we log in with both users, so the game uploads to Chess.com afterwards to both user profiles?
^This exact mechanism is still being figured out. As the game will not technically happen on Chess.com, but we are working on a way to get it into your profile. It is a popular feature request, OTB to upload to Chess.com account. We are on board, but some technical details have to be worked out and we have to get Chess.com’s blessing. They have been great to work with, but we have to respect their schedule sometimes - so not sure when this will be finalized.
When both players have Chess.com accounts, it would be great to have the games in each profile so each player can have their own analysis in Chess.com, and if we can play Chess.com rated games OTB, that would be amazing!
I hope the team can work out these features with Chess.com, which would deliver the full Chess.com experience OTB.
Rated games with 2 chess.com accounts OTB would be amazing and is what I’m looking for for a long time even if I understand it may be challenging to implement
