Two chess.com players OTB both logged in account

I’m wondering what happened with the topic if it will be available to play on the board with two players and both logged in to their chess com account so that it shows in both of their accounts but you actually play against each other on the ChessUp 2. Is this still in progress to become reality or will this never be possible? I searched a while ago but the topic is no longer available so I created this one. Like thats actually the only thing holding me back to buy the board. I really would love that feature and i believe others would too.

When you go onto Chess.com through the board there is an option to play friends. If your friend is online whether on their device or the board you can play matches against them through Chess.com.

So you can play on the board and it will show up in both chess.com accounts and is available for ratings and analysis?

Yes, but not on the board. Analysis, rating changes, recorded game, etc. must be accessed from your device not the board.

Ok just that i really understand. You and I sit at the board (physically) both player can connect their chess com account to the same ChessUp 2? I play e4 and you e5. Just on the board and it will track it in the account if the game is finished and is then on each account available for analysis and rating but like on the app on the phone right?

And not that I play e4 and you have to play e5 first on the phone just that you then can move it on the board?

We are working on a solution for this. I don’t have a date yet - but it is on our feature roadmap.

Thank you for the answer

This is a game against a friend of mine that I played on my ChessUp. As you can see it is available for analysis (haven’t done it yet.) There is set time limits that can be set (no custom). This is 5/5 in blitz.

Hope I could answer your question as well as I could!

You can currently play OTB and export a file called a pgn file - then both of you can upload that to Chess.com and save it.

That works today

Yes but I would love rating changes to be attached as well. This is a great feature, looking forward to it!

Thats already nice that this works. Just the main thing is that a friend of mine and I would love to play OTB while it also affects both our ratings in the accounts. But anyway I will wait for this to happen. Is there any way that I can stay updated when this feature is implemented?

I think just stay tuned through here. Check back in 4-5 months and your dream (and mine) may come true. Lots of features would be nice though, so I hope to see this in update 8.0.0 - 9.0.0.

(The 8.0.0 estimate is just based on my priorities for updates)

Of course @Test1234! Love that you are so invested in getting answers to questions that you are looking for in the product.
Before I bought my ChessUp I too was interested in how Chess.com would work, but I will say I have been extremely impressed and have not once regretted by purchase.
Welcome to the ChessUp community!

You will love it. I enjoy seeing the updates as they come along. Looking forward to see what you think of the board

So we talked to Chess.com about this (there is account integrity issues that involve more than just ChessUp).

They are open to it - and we will work on this (rated OTB play). But I will say, this is not something coming immediately. It may be a while.

The unrated OTB play - with the games syncing to your Chess.Com account for review - that we are working on in the near term.

And as always - you can get the pgn file and upload manually for now. It is an unrated game
