I After I received the ChessUp 2, I selected Dutch as the language. Then, in the setup menu, I wanted to continue by entering the Wi-Fi password, but the only two options available were via Android or iPhone. The connection to the app did not work. Resetting to factory settings also did not work.
After that, I switched the language to English, and then I was able to enter the Wi-Fi password directly using the on-screen keyboard. After completing the setup, I changed the language back to Dutch.
I also noticed that restarting my phone was the solution for connecting my phone to the Lichess.org and Chess.com buttons in the menu.
I want to make sure we understand what you mean here:
”Then, in the setup menu, I wanted to continue by entering the Wi-Fi password, but the only two options available were via Android or iPhone. The connection to the app did not work.”
Did the ChessUp app not connect to the board at the WiFi entry stage?
that is correct, the app and the board did not connect through wifi during the setup procedure. I tried connecting my phone through bleutooth but that also did not work.
After changing the location setting in Android for the app, restarting my phone and trying reconnect it all went well.
The oddest thing that happened was the different setup procedures with the different languages.
