Hi, just a question: What are the differences to ChessUp 2?

ChessUp 2 has the built in screen, ChessUp Lite saves $100 in retail price. Any function on the ChessUp 2 screen can be done on the ChessUp App + ChessUp Lite.

ChessUp Lite also is a slightly smaller set, but even more travel friendly in that sense.

Interesting development but in all fairness, I’m looking out for a bigger board not a smaller one. And, hopefully, a full sized board with wood colors so that I can use it at my club with the players that don’t want to play on this black and white color scheme

Looks like ChessUp lite will be basically ChessUp the original version just smaller? Larger is what I would back and support. I don’t need a smaller board for sure. But it is a nice option for those who do. :+1:t3:

That’s cool! But as a budget option, maybe make it still be able to play Chess.com on its own, then it could be heavily marketed towards kids. Great job! Edit: I just saw it could lol.

I like the idea of a smaller and so more transportable board! Like this it would fit in my backpack - my chessup2 does not fit there sadly.

If this would have been available BEFORE i bought my board i would totally have gone with it.
Cause of the size and the lower price  I think its a good entry board into the world of computer chess.

If ever there will be a smaller board - travel size or so, maybe 20x20cm (also withouth the screen cause i think it makes the board so much slimmer and the app works just fine) - then i will totally make an addition to my chessup-collection.

But for now i think the chessup lite is a smart and userfriendly addition :hugs:
Cant wait for more of you product ideas! (my wishlist: smaller board, different figur colors)

Whats the size of the board? I really like it and probably will add one to my collection.

Playable area is 258 mm x 258 mm (10.125 inches)

Product is 306 mm x 306 mm (12 inches)

Perfect size for travelling. Any chance that it comes with any kind of case/bag to protect it?

Thanks!

Yes! Perfect zip shell case for travel. Tomorrow when the campaign launches you can see it.

Curious with the new board will it integrate with other platforms than chess dot Com ? Lichess, chessiverse etc assuming that would be through the app since there is only the button for direct play to chess dot com?

CU Lite does connect directly to Lichess.

Chessiverse, chess connect, etc - are done through the respective apps.

As an owner of the original ChessUp from the first KickStarter, this is appealing as I wanted something a little more portable. And now that all the lessons + online integration are in place, might be time to pick up chess again. Too bad there isn’t a recycling program I can send the original ChessUp to.
