My kids have been enjoying ChessUp 2, though they often get frustrated playing against the chess.com bots. If my kids accidentally brush their hand against the screen, or even if a piece they’re holding touches the screen as they set it aside, it auto-resigns without confirmation. I’ve tested this myself and it is remarkably easy to do, and has spoiled a good chunk of their games. If you could make it a little more difficult to resign against the chess.com bots that would be great. Thanks!
Someone else was having a similar issue with accidental taps during play and requested something like a hold function to trigger. ( Link below )
Which I think is an important idea.
The board has a built-in confirmation dialogue, from what I’ve seen. Y’all should definitely not have to be getting your games spoiled like that, so that’s something that someone should look into.
Jeff has some reasoning against a hold function by default. I suggested an option in settings to choose – if you wanted/needed more than just a confirmation – how many seconds to hold a Resignation/Draw/Etc button before it being triggered, however, so far no response from Jeff on that matter.
There is a resign and confirm pop up.
That is all we will add for this. It is a balance between burden and smooth function - and we will not add more burden to the resign flow.
Now if there is something that is accomplishing this in one click, that we would address
There is only a resign confirmation when playing against humans, not chess.com bots. That’s the issue.
Oh - got it. I think I am on test software version - that is already fixed in upcoming release.
My children and I are also finding this same issue, the resignation flag is very sensitive and can be pressed when moving the pieces off the board. It would be great if there was a way to add a confirmation as suggested by Seastan.
Otherwise the product is awesome. It’s exactly what I hoped for when ordering and it’s bringing the game to life for the children which I love.
