Post Move Hint not working after selected

I selected post move hint but it is not working. Is this a known issue and if so what is the fix ETA

Thanks

@JustinF or @Richard - did we push this yet?

Post move hint is in the app for chessup 1 - and I am not sure of the status of implementation on ChessUp 2. Sorry for the confusion. It is something releasing so you can expect it, but I am not sure if we pushed it out yet.

Hi Ken, currently post-move-hint is only available for games played from mobile apps. We’ll likely extend this to support games started on the board as well at a future date.

Hi Richard,
Can I start a game from the app and still play online the board ? If so can you show me how. I don’t really have a preference on where the game is started.

Kind Regards,
Ken

Hi Ken,

To play from the phone:

  1. Turn on the board and stay on the home-menu.
  2. Connect your phone with the ChessUp app
  3. Setup the game in the ChessUp app, and click Start-Game

You’ll need to keep the phone on and nearby the board while you play. Moves from the phone will appear on the board, and moves from the board will appear on the phone.

Hi Richard,
Quick question. When I have the post-move hint enabled I see a green or red after the move. I assume red is a blunder and green is a non-blunder mover.

My question is on the app screen. I can move a piece and it will show green on the board post move but on the iPhone screen it will show red. Likewise, if I make a blunder move it will show red on the board post-move but green on the app chessboard.

Can you please explain ?

Thank you,
Ken

The board might be using a different position evaluation than the app - position evaluation runs can vary slightly even when started on the same position, but shouldn’t vary so much we’d confuse red with green.

I’ll look into this - I don’t think it’s working correctly.

Thank you that would be great.

Also, why are there different move counts for the same opening and variation. For example the Sicilian Dragon has 2, 4, 6 all the way to 14 moves. Why not just have the 14 move version.

Can the opening book library be expanded ?

Thanks,
Ken

Are you talking about setting up a game in the app, choosing an opening and selecting Show All Variations?
