We have a recent issue with the Chess.com interface and are working on it now. Sorry for the issue.
Any update on this? Very frustrating to have just spent $350 on this and I’m not able to use the chess.com feature
Are you waiting for the green pawn to appear at the top. Chess.com does not work for me unless I wait a little while after the green pawn appears before starting a game.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen the green pawn appear. What am I doing wrong?
You need to just go into the chess.com menu and wait 3 sec. Then you will see the green pawn.

Can you go into the settings menu on the board.
There is an option to sign out off chess.com. After that re-login into chess.com and look if that helps?

The login token that Chess.com provides to the board has to be refreshed sometimes (similar to how you need to re-login on their app or web site occasionally).
Going to Settings->Sign Out of Chess.com and then repeating the set up login steps issues a fresh token.
We need to make a better notification warning. But if you are ever having issues, just redoing the login helps most issues.
That worked for me.
A lot of authentication systems will provide a refresh token along with an authentication/authorization bearer token. The refresh token is then used to get a new bearer token and refresh token without the need for an interactive login. The refresh token typically has a 30 day TTL compared to an interactive bearer token.
Yes that is how it works for ChessUp 2 as well.
If you are idle too long a re-login will be required.
When playing white or turning the chessup 2 on it starts the game on chess.com against a player, but when after playing as black it is stuck on starting soon
I see this quite often. I mostly just play the bots and it doesn’t seem to matter which side I play or which bot. Sometimes it happens when starting a new game after playing the bot. Usually it freezes at “starting soon…” and ocassionally after the 1st move. But if I make it thru the 1st move it rarely fails to finish the game. just did the update to 4.1.8 and the problem is still there. It must be a tough one to figure out bc it’s been there since I got my CU2 back in April and have had several updates since then. Other than that, I love my board & playing the bots. No regrets on the purchase at all.
I also get this bug at least 50% of the time.. At a MINIMUM we NEED a cancel button added.
Are you by chance playing an uncommon time format and/or high rated?
When we looked into a customer who was having it that frequently, he was 2000 rated and playing 30+0. It turned out not to be a bug - it was truly waiting on matches.
If it is happening that often, there is like something else causing the issue. We can look into it if you share your account name?
No I’m a a beginner trying to play the low level chess.com bots.
@oridota is working on the bot launch issues now. Should be resolved soon. We are aware of this one and on it.
@Jeff Quick clarification — my “Starting Soon” problem happens when I play against a player, not bots. ChessUp 2 on firmware 4.2.1, Android app 3.0.9. Usually fine as White but gets stuck when I’m Black. Not sure if that’s related to the bot work or separate.
We recommend using the board alone, without the app, with ChessUp 2 for Chess.com games. Is there a reason you are using the app?
