Stockish playing games

Usually i go to chess.com and play the bots so it gets recorded and can be analyzed, but i decided to play the stockfish AI at 1900 elo . in the endgame , stockfish was ahead with a Q, R , B , and about 5 pawns. Several times it had me in a mate in one , but instead , it moved around where i could escape and just kept doing this . At 1900 elo i would expect it to finish me off . Whats up with this . ? sure , i should have just resigned, but its nice to see the the tactics even if you’re losing . Anyone else see this happening?? By the way, i already reported it as a bug report, but not sure if its a bug . anyway thanks for your input and remember, the Queen is nothing without a king !!

Engines struggle with playing below their strength.

We have our own series of bots coming out later that will do a better job in these scenarios.

But yeah - that is typical of stockfish set lower.

Larry Kaufman was doing a really good job at tailoring his Komodo engine (bought by chess.com) to different levels of play. They may even use his input/engine on their bots.
