Engine Strength

Hi. I’m curious about the different engines used and their strength when connected to WiFi.
I recall an earlier post, which I can’t seem to find now, explaining that ChessUp was working on their own engines to better replicate human play at lower ELO strengths, and that at higher ELO strengths the engine was Stockfish.

I’ve noticed a big jump in playing strength for the built in bots on WiFi going from 1400-1500 ELO. Assuming I am remembering the earlier post correctly I’m curious if 1500 is where Stockfish takes over?

Yes that is where it takes over. The text on the Ai opponent slider will also indicate the switch.

We have a newer embedded engine coming out soon that may go up as high as 2000 - we are still testing it. Once published, that transition will move up as well.

Jeff - thanks for the reply. I did not notice text on the AI slider showing anything other than the ELO.. will have to look closer
