I hope you are all enjoying your ChessUp 2 boards! I’m loving the experience so far, but I wanted to start a discussion about a potential platform integration that I think would bring massive value to the community.
Are there any plans in the near future to integrate World Chess into the ChessUp platform?
With World Chess now offering official online FIDE ratings, the demand for a seamless over-the-board (OTB) experience is going to skyrocket. Being able to play official, rated FIDE games using the ChessUp 2 board would be a game-changer for many of us who want to work on our official ratings from the comfort of home.
I’d love to hear from the ChessUp team if this is something currently on the roadmap, or if it’s a possibility down the line.
What does the rest of the community think? Would you use World Chess integration?
How can this work? If its official rated games, people using the chessup board will 100% have a disadvantage when playing as you have to move your opponents pieces to, and there will always be a slightly bigger lag than someone playing on a phone /tablet /pc etc.
And in time trouble ie when you have literally seconds left your always going to lose on time on the chessup board, unless you checkmate your opponent just before your time runs out.
your always going to lose on time etc.
So as it’s a so called serious game ie fide rated, I feel it would be a unfair disadvantage to play on the chessup board.
Chess. Com and lichess is more fun chess and yes there is a rating, but it’s not serious chess ie fide rated etc.
So in my opinion, I would not implement the fide platform one for the reason I have given.
It’s to much of an unfair disadvantage to play on the chessup board.
