Most of the friends I play with on my ChessUp2 board have chess.com accounts. It would be nice to be able to both play on the ChessUp2 board and have our games saved on chess.com without having to export PGNs, or having to send them the PGN so they can also save or review the game. Currently, it seems the only way we can kind-of do this is if I play on the ChessUp2 and my friend plays on their phone or tablet or laptop connected to chess.com, even though we are in the same house together…it just seems awkward. Feature request, if possible? ![]()
We are investigating this now (2 player OTB being better reflected on Chess.com accounts).
And agreed this needs some development. We are working on it.
This would be an awesome update!
Would love to know if this is going to be possible! Just ordered my new board and this is one of the main things I’d like to try! Any updates?
Indeed that would be so cool
We played around with a QR code on screen after the match that allows any person to scan it and load on the chess.com site (from where they can save it to their account). We may release that.
We also released family accounts, so two chess.com accounts can now be accessed on the same board. But that does not directly allow those two to save a 2-player game OTB to their Chess.com account. We will take a look at that idea.
Rated 2-player OTB play is another request we get - and while we have had discussions with Chess.com on this, there is a lot still to be answered and no firm commitment yet. When rated play comes in, there is a lot of concerns around game and account integrity, plus the fact they host all rated games and when playing 2-player, the game is local (not online). So this is a much larger project, but still one we have our eye on.
This feature would be amazing, and as a software engineer myself I understand the complexity, so I appreciate you looking into it and trying to figure out how to best implement this. You have an amazing team! ![]()
