Battery icon disappearing and lights dimming spontaneously

First, your product is absolutely spectacular. It’s reinvigorated my love for the game and I’ve actually seen my over-the-board tournament results improve in recent months. I attribute both directly to using Chessup instead of practicing online staring at a screen.

An odd occurrence that’s only cropped up within the last month…the battery icon will randomly disappear and the lights on all the squares will be ~80% less bright. Luckily, there’s no impact on the game. I plug in the board but that does nothing. Is this indicative of something getting worse with the power supply inside the board?

Great to hear you are loving ChessUp!

The dimming is likely happening when a captured piece is placed over our ambient light sensor.

You can disable auto light levels by going to settings→light (?I think) and setting to your preferred level.

Also can note where the spot is and avoid placing captured pieces there. *The spot is hidden, but in between the chessup logo and the screen.
