The board began to glow dimly

Hello,
I played this morning. Everything was fine.
In the afternoon, I sat down to play again, but the squares were obviously glowing very dimly.
I restarted the board, but it didn’t help. When I turned it on, it flashed twice, brightly, as it should. But after that, the brightness level immediately dropped significantly again. Including on the screen.
The charge level is green. The low light mode is turned off.

What’s wrong with it, and how can it be fixed?

Thanks!

Upd: Some time has passed and the board has started glowing brightly again.
But this isn’t the first time this has happened. Is this normal?

Upd2: As soon as I wrote the first update to this post, the next batch and the board dimmed again. Who is responsible for this?

What brightness mode is the board in when this happens?

I have never changed this mode since purchasing the board. The mode is set to: auto

When this happens, is there any chance there’s something covering or casting a shadow over this area(where I’ve placed the paper)?

Yeah this is usually caused by people placing captured pieces over the sensor.

I recommend taking it off of auto and setting it to high.

We need to chance to high as the default. The number of people that benefit from auto < the number of people that place pieces over the sensor.

Richard,
I have a spare queen positioned precisely at that spot.
Is that the issue?

Thank you Richard and Jeff,
You are the best!
