I’ve seen a few other threads and I’m still getting this issue. White works fine but if playing black the game freezes on the first move.
Tried logging out/logging back in even forced a firmware update that wasn’t needed. Apps are up to date.

No need to be snarky. If there’s a recurring issue it would be well advised to issue some kind of communication to your users instead of having them hunt through a community forum for answers.
I am not snarky mate. Not at all. Only there is a post yesterday about the same issue and it has been answered bij Jeff. So I don’t see the point of making another post about it. We all have this issue, chess.com has made changes and they don’t alert them. (I am an user like you and not part of Bryghtlabs). Everytime chess.com make changes we have this problem, it has happend before, and the only way they know if we make a post of this issue so they can fix it on their end. But if they know and will fix it there is no need to make x posts about it in 2 days in a row. That’s why I added the line in my reply and linked the answer from yesterday.
@Criptix is not being snarky at all. He is simply stating that this forum doesn’t need to continue to repost the same questions that have been answered and solved already.
