Can we turn OFF the assistance lights completely?

I really really want to completely turn OFF the assistance lights. I do not want it to show me legal moves when I touch a piece. I do not want it to show me a special color when me or the opponent are in check.

Is this possible in the board?

(It does need to indicate if my move was illegal though, which I believe it does)

Yes there is a minimum lights mode in the works.

Thanks, Jeff!

Also - just to mention - people who do not have the board yet are usually really concerned about the lights. The marketing material has the lights on all the time (that makes a catchy ad).

However, with the board in hand, people realize the lights spend most of the time off and are actually pleasant or at least not an issue.

So I am not sure if you have the unit yet or not - but if not - I promise it is way less of an issue than most believe.

You are right, I don’t have the board yet!

However, my concern is not the aesthetics (which I absolutely love, btw). My concern is that this assistance could become a subconscious crutch that I start relying upon. Kind of like how we are so used to the material difference displayed online that it becomes difficult without it OTB.

When u make the opponents move and evaluate the position there is no lights. Just when you touch a piece the lights will show according to the assistance level you choose. When you set the level to 1 against the AI or play online where you don’t get assistance ofcourse… you can only see the legal moves like on chess.com itself.
So don’t think to mutch about it and play with the board. It’s really fine.

That helps, thanks Criptix!
