Can I use the chess.com game review with my chessup 2 board?
Yes.
For games played on chess.com - if you open up chess.com app or website then the game will be there with all chess.com games.
You can also upload a game for review to chess.com (if it was a 2 player game or bot game, etc).
You can also use our app for analysis for free (if out of chess.com reviews).
Which type of game are you looking to do game review with? I can point you to more specific instructions then.
Jeff, I would like to review the games in my game history on the chessup. I am running the app on an iPad. I have tried this on the iPhone as well. I noticed the chess.com selection says beta.
When I choose the game to review I get the Game Review button but it doesn’t do anything.
Also when I exit the Game Review box it starts an unwanted active game against the opponent.
You mention chess.com website. Is there an extension for a PC browser?
You can copy a game played on the board. In the history tab you can select download and then copy the game. Go to chess.com, analyse, copy from fen/pgn, select pgn and paste the game there. Now you can use chess.com site to analyse your otb game against AI or 2 player game.
Criptix,
Thanks for the reply but I know how to use chess.com to review or analyze a game. I want to use the board to help analyze a game from my chess.com history. I don’t know if this is possible.
Not that I know. You can’t import a game.
The only way it can be done is replay the game as a 2 player game but that’s a lot of work no
.
I want to make sure I understand it completely.
- Take any game from Chess.com
- Import it to the board
- Touch and play through the game? With colored assistance?
Currently we do not have that. Is that the feature you are looking for?
Exactly. After each game chess.com asks me to review the game with a coach. If when I hit review the game would be reflected on the board same as when I played the game. See screen shots.
Thanks Jeff.
If you are playing with the app connected, the game is stored in your history. You can go to the history tab and review through the ChessUp apps. On Android tap the down arrow for the game and tap “Analyze Game”. On iOS devices you can tap the magnifying glass on a game and get a list of options including game analysis.
To be all encompassing, there is Export Game which you can copy a PGN, email a PGN, or download the PGN. You can also review Game Statistics to view your moves and see how well you played. You can also delete a game from your ChessUp history
I am not the OP, but this feature would be great to analyze openings etc. Would be great if it works like the feature on chess.com. So it should show the best moves, but you should also be able to move something that was not played (with both colors) and check what the followup moves are. Not sure if its possible yet, but would also be great if through the app with ai or something to show why something is an inaccuracy or the best move like the lessons, but live.
This should be working in the mobile apps, but it is not in the board connection at this point. You can also look at a previous game, tap on your player card and choose “Play from Here”. Our mobile apps and the board have expanded at a significant rate, and it would be a lot to put into one youtube video. I don’t know if this addresses all of your questions, if not let me know. The feature set is pretty large.
One thing that might help is looking at a game you played on the mobile apps, move to a position in the game and tap the crystal ball icon.
I think I see the dissconnect. All of the features described require the game to have been previously played with the chessup board and stored in the history. I am trying to review games played on chess.com using their review funtion. What is the crystal ball icon?
Crystal ball will show the next sequence of moves per the Ai computer. So when you wonder “why is that bad/good?” - it will play it out to show you.
That is one of the buttons in our application when you are reviewing the game. It uses stockfish to supply the best next moves.
