The ChessUp bots aren’t working via the ChessUp app today when I choose to play as black. Nothing happens. However when I set up the game up via the board display it works. Would like this fixed as the app provides more interesting settings such as opening books and more bots.
Thanks for letting us know - we will investigate and fix ASAP.
Are you using ChessUp on iOS, or Android?
Edit: seems to be working on ChessUp2+Android, I play black on board vs app as white.
Android but there was an update to the android version today for me so now I have version 3.1.5.
Version 3.1.5 seems to connect more reliably maybe in terms of ChessUp bots playing as white via the app, but still not working 100% perfectly, I’ll make an unlisted video demonstrating the issue:
1st attempt: success
2nd attempt: failed
3rd attempt: success
4th attempt: failed
5th attempt: failed
6th: attempt: failed
7th attempt:success
8th attempt: failed
9th attempt: failed
10th attempt: failed
11th: failed
12: failed
13: failed
14: failed
15: failed
16: success
17: failed
So in my quick experiment with today’s new android version 3.1.5 I had a success rate of 4 out of 17 attempts which is about 25%. But if I do it without the app the success rate is 100%. So I think the app still has a bug in this issue.
Notice that you can know immediately if it’s a success or not by its behavior at the start of the game, if it’s a success it’ll immediately show a blue swirl in the middle of the board on the app, if it’s a failure there will be no blue swirl at the start of the game.
I should have tagged @grabbe - I misread the first post.
Looking into it
@OmniusReaper556 We will have something for this in the next release
@OmniusReaper556 An Android release will be out today. 3.1.6 that should address this
Update is live if you want to manually update
Tried it and it’s working great for me, thanks!
Always here to make things right as quickly as we can.
Thanks @grabbe - glad this is fixed
