Amazing board! Really love it. I used to have a Chessnut but this feels much more developed in my opinion. Perfect to don’t need any mobile device to play.
Are people also using this for their children to learn to play chess? How are you using the colorful advice the board is offering? My son likes it and is using the maximum level of advice. How can we adjust this over time? Are the coloring advice really helping to learn the game?

Welcome to the community, @Forza_nl!
Yes, quite a few families are using ChessUp to help kids learn — the color guidance is one of its biggest strengths for beginners.
Children learning: It’s great for early learners because they get instant feedback without needing to understand complex notation or rely on a screen.
Color advice: I usually start at Level 3 or 4 so the board highlights both my possible moves and the opponent’s threats — it helps build pattern recognition.
Adjusting over time: As your son improves, you can reduce the help level step by step (for example, move from Level 5 → 3 → 1). Each step encourages more independent thinking while still keeping it fun.
Does it help? Definitely — the color guidance turns abstract chess logic into something visual. Kids start to see what “safe” and “risky” look like, which is exactly how confidence builds.
Hope that helps! Would love to hear what modes or levels your son enjoys most

Thanks for your advice! That looks good. I wasn’t sure about the color advice levels but we will start with level 4 and move it slowly to 1.
