Is it possible to have a mode or setting where only if you double tap a piece or touch and hold the piece in it’s location for more than X seconds to reveal the hint/move suggestion? I think that would be amazing. You can plan a normal game without help unless you need it, and have a limited number of hints available to you.
When playing against a beginner player you might want to give them a limited number of hits to use instead of just showing them the best and worst moves every time they touch a piece .
I disagree and clearly you don’t get it. When you touch it it immediately reveals the blunders and there is no way to tell if the player intended to play that move or not unless they announce it before playing. If you have to touch and hold you’re intentional about using a hint. You don’t have to agree and you’re entitled to your own opinion instead of trying to shut others down.
I don’t know how difficult this would be to implement but I know I would use this type of feature constantly!
Even an easier to implement version would be good such as a “hint delay” where the assist colours appear after a few secs after touching.
This would of course have to be an option in settings since not everyone would want this type of feature active. The option would be brilliant (especially when playing with kids)

Fascinating! So which one is it? Is this an open forum where we are we free to politely suggest features… or only the ones @pickup agrees with? I’m quite sure the ChessUp team isn’t being derailed by this or any other post.
@Darwish has a very simple proposal for an optional setting, he’s not threatening your gameplay experience.
Yes the board has a limit setting. And if you put the assistent to the lowest the only color you see are Blue. And no blunders etc.
If you want to use help, just Touch the piece after you calculate.
@pickup this is what you wanted to say isn’t it? Thx for your replies here.
I think my comment was very clear. In a two player game if you want to give the other player some help by having them use the assist feature but without always having the assist ON when they touch a piece then it’s impossible to know if they were originally going to blunder but simply decided not to when they saw it’s a red square. With this feature they can play a game completely without assist and only use the “help” when they need it intentionally by double tapping the piece or tapping and holding. Again it’s useful to some of us and if it’s not useful to you then feel free to say I don’t think so. You don’t manage the work that the developers do and you don’t get to tell me or anyone else not to say if we think a feature is cool because you want us to “let the developers focus on your other cool features”.
Thanks, I appreciate it. I’m more talking to the other person who insisted and replied back more than once saying “let the developers focus on other things” . Point made, don’t need to turn others down. We’re all here to help each other like you said.
I think I know why there is a discrepancy, the chessup 1 board has “post move hint” which does everything OP wants.
However, it is not ready or not working for chessup2. The option toggle is present but doesn’t work currently.
Correct me if I’m wrong as I’d love to get this feature working.
I’ll ask about this in a different thread since this is getting closed!
Edit: found it, the game must be initiated through your phone for this feature to work. It will light the square up -after- the move is played and fulfills what OP is after. This feature doesn’t work if you try to just use the board on it’s own, that could be a work in progress.
I’m just adding this for people who search this info later
Actually I’m not asking for a post move hint. What I want is to be able to use a hint feature selectively when a lower level player is playing against a higher level player. Meaning you can play completely without assistance and let’s say you both agree on having only 3 hints during the game, for the lower level to use their hints before playing they would touch and hold a piece or double tap a piece before playing. Otherwise they don’t get any help. I hope that explains it.
