I understand you and what you want to say
Can you check the hint limit function? I think that is what you want.

Believe it or not I’m the one who suggested the original hint function here a few days after receiving my board after the kick starter. It was added by Jeff based on this request: Limited chances for assistance in 2P mode?
my new idea simply suggests activating the hint by double tapping a piece or tapping and holding.
Really don’t know why they are not understanding you.
Here is an example scenario this optional setting would fix:
Therefore, a setting to “hold for hint” would solve this and allow you to play some moves blind.
you got it! Thank you!!
Very cool idea. I am actually suprised how many people do not get it
Me too, I fully understand how this could be a nice feature addition, being intentional while needing a hint during the game and not for the whole game is a very good idea
@Jeff any thoughts on this? Would love to get your feedback if this is even possible. I’m enjoying teaching chess using this board so a more intentionally functional hint option would be super cool.
For a one time hint - we would add it to the user interface on the screen.
We have a multiscreen (“carousel”) view in the works which will add more information and choices during game play. If we add one time hint we would add it there.
As much as possible we will stick with features that are easily discoverable and predictable/explained clearly - so we will do these type of functions on the display.
As for one time hint as a feature - it is on our master list of features under consideration - but not scheduled or planned yet. We will first be finishing our bots, multiple accounts on one board, and some UI improvements (like chess.com player icons showing up, etc). Then we will be looking at next features.
The UI carousel will also allow people to toggle hints on and off during a game. So that will also free up people to edit games during play and not have just static settings from the start.
