Firmware Upgrade/Downgrade or Beta

Hi,

I don’t have the board yet (should receive it on next Monday). But I am curious to know if a firmware can be downgraded in case of an issue with the new firmware. Also, I wonder if it would be a good idea to have an option to enable to get let say “beta” firmware or something like this. In other words, being able to to delay the new firmware installation untill it has been verified by user that want to test it.

This is just an idea like that. I guess most of the users want to see the new features/fix as soon as they are available but I also guess that other users prefer to have a firmware that is confirmed to not introduce major issues.

Thanks for your thoughts about it.

There are production and beta servers and firmware. We mainly use beta in the office.

Firmware can always be recovered by forcing an update from the app.

In the rare case we would send out a bad one, we would quick follow with the fix, or in worst case, it can be rolled back in the app.

Gets technical, but there are portions of the firmware we do not update - that are used for the updating mechanism itself… so the units remain recoverable and updatable.

Ok, make sense.

Thanks
