Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can help or at least point me in the right direction, because I’ve had no luck getting a response from Bryght Labs directly.
I recently received a ChessUp 2 as a gift and have run into what appears to be a manufacturing defect. Multiple squares on the board constantly light up purple mid-game, and moves frequently fail to register when pieces are placed on certain squares. After some troubleshooting I noticed the root cause, the surface layer of the board is physically delaminating. When I press down on the affected squares I can visibly see the surface bouncing, indicating air pockets have formed between the top layer and the sensors underneath. This is causing the piece recognition to fail on those squares consistently. I am playing in my first OTB tournament this Sunday and I was really looking forward to using it to help me practice.
I’ve reached out to Bryght Labs both via email (info@bryghtlabs.com) and through the support form on their website four days ago and have not received any response, besides their instagram DM and I am waiting for a second response there.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with their board surface? And has anyone had success getting a warranty replacement? Any advice on how to actually get in touch with their support team would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
