One question, but does chessup recognize if the pieces are placed correctly at the beginning of the game? In my case if I put the knight instead of the bishop nothing happens. It’s normal?
Hi Gigi - ChessUp relies on proper piece placement to start the game and tracks the pieces from there. So correct, if misplaced, it will not detect nor warn the user. The piece will behave as the intended piece from the starting square.

To put this in slightly more technical terms:
The board can detect the presence of a piece, and whether or not it is being touched, but not its identity. It can also detect whether a square is being touched without a piece on it, though this is not as often useful.
Just touching the squares doesn’t always work for me. If my finger is too dry it won’t react.
