Board not recognizing any of the pieces anymore

All of a sudden today after finishing playing a game the board stopped recognizing any of the pieces. All the pieces are on the correct starting squares and the LEDs are lit up as pink under all of them. I tried power-cycling the board many times, tried forcing a firmware update, tried reset all from settings, did not help.

Any way around this, or is the board now unusable and has to be returned back for fix/replacement?

Thanks,
Dmitry

Are you sure it’s not this? Stuck at “set up the chess pieces to continue”

Thanks thats exactly what it was! Pieces on the wrong side of the board. Feel like such an idiot

at least with the chessup 2, the board can tell you ur an idiot.. I wonder how many games I played on the chessup 1 that I though the board messed up but it was just me putting the pieces on the wrong squares. lol

We are going to add a text message that says “misplaced pieces”.

This is very common. The other thing that happens is people move the opponents pawn rather than the back rank knight (that is jumping over pawns in the opening). We light the square purple but people then suspect the square/piece is bad. So we need to send a text message on the screen.

As far as I know, the pink glowing squares indicate that the pieces are positioned incorrectly.

Does this really need any additional information?

The fact that it keeps happening is why its being addressed. People think the board is broken instead of realizing the pieces are setup wrong. Which in some cases makes sense, lower rated players that know the white square goes on the right, but don’t understand that the alpha numerical also has to be correct.

That may be true, but if all four rows in the starting lineup are lit pink, you can see without any additional warning that the pieces are positioned incorrectly.

There are just a few other, more important things that still need to be implemented.
