Hi support team,
yesterday, after a long wait, I was thrilled to finally receive my ChessUp2 board. However, I am now encountering an issue with the battery. Despite following the charging process, the board does not seem to retain power.
Here are the details of the issue:
During charging, the LED indicator flashes red and, after approximately 4 hours, turns green.
However, when I attempt to power on the board, it indicates that the battery still needs to be charged.
I used multiple USB-C chargers, all with a power output of 20W, but the issue persists.
Here are some additional details about my setup:
Order Number: 20182
Purchase Date: 20/11/2024
Delivery Date: 2/1/2025 - tracking number 283677566658
Charging Method: USB-C using verified 20W chargers and cables.
I have already tried the following steps:
Testing the USB-C cables and chargers to ensure they work with other devices.
Charging the board using different power sources (e.g., wall outlets, USB ports on a computer).
Inspecting the USB-C port and cables for any visible issues or damage.
Unfortunately, these actions have not resolved the issue, and the board remains unusable.
Could you please assist me in identifying the cause of this issue or provide guidance on the next steps to resolve it? If required, I can provide additional information or perform further diagnostics.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to your response.

I don’t know what happened a few minutes ago, but it now seems to be working after 24 hours of charging. I turned it on, and it asked for the language and Wi-Fi. I’ll monitor the situation and let you know.
Hi,
It seems to be resolved. The battery finally charged, though it took almost 24 hours, which is quite unusual. I hope this is just because it was the first charge. In any case, I also purchased a charger recommended by Jeff in various posts. Thanks for the support

Hi Jeff @JustinF@Jeff
I am still experiencing issues with the battery charge. It shows a green light indicating that it’s fully charged, but when I turn on the chessboard, a message appears saying the battery is low. I’m asking if you can solve this problem. I am in Italy, so I would like to know if I have to ship the chessboard to you at my own expense, and if so, to which address? In the meantime, will I have to manage without it? Please let me know. Thank you.

@Alessandro
Does the unit stop working like it’s run out of battery very quickly if not plugged in? If not, it might be that the fuel gauge needs to relearn the battery. This can be done by running the board all the way down until it shuts off. Then put it on the charger with the board off and let it charge all the way. Then turn it on.
If the unit dies right away when not connected to a charger then we should replace the unit for you.
Hi @Jeff@JustinF
This is what happened: last night I fully charged the chessboard and then turned it off for the entire night, of course. This afternoon, when I tried to turn it on, I got the “low battery” message. From the full charge last night until this afternoon, I never used the chessboard. This is the issue—it seems as if the charge from last night didn’t hold, even though the LED was green and the on-screen indicator showed it as fully charged. Without using it, the battery doesn’t hold its charge. In my opinion, the battery is faulty.

Hi Jeff, I received the new chessboard today. As soon as I turned it on, I saw the battery is working fine. I’ll test its functionality over the next few days. If everything seems fine, similar to the previous one, how should I go about returning it? Could you provide me with the shipping instructions?
Hi Jeff,
thank you for your assistance and support and for accommodating my needs. It’s normal for these small inconveniences to happen when working, and I truly appreciate your help. I’m happy with my purchase and glad to have supported your project. I’d love to stay in touch, and if you’d like, I’d be happy to leave a 5-star review. Have a great weekend!.
