Unrecorded Chess.com Bot Games

Hey Jeff and Team,

I have been noticing that my Chess.com bot games that are started from the board screen arent being archived on Chess.com. This means I am unable to analyze them afterwards.

Is this a known issue?

Yes - we will need to find a solution here. Chess.com does not record bot games - so we will need to record them another way.

Gotcha, thanks Jeff!

If I play on Chess.com via another chessboard I have it does record bot games, but I need to click “Game review” right after the game ended and it will show up in the archive of games.

Good point - Chess.com platform does record a bot game if you review it immediately. We could add that in the future - noted.

Yeah, that would be appreciated because that is one of the major reasons i have been a Diamond chess.com member. I like the other unlimited features, but the unlimited game review is my favorite part.

Great point and we will take care of it.

We may need to get an API call from Chess.com to automate this, but it is on the list now

Actually you don’t even have to review it. You can just click the Save Game button. Just played a game vs. Penguin Bot from the ChessUp app on chess.com. After I beat the little guy, you scroll down and click save and it saves to your chess.com archive. Yes, would be great if this would happen from the board automatically. Thanks. Loving the board so far.

My board came today and I just finished playing the first match against a Chess.com bot! What an amazing experience. Since I also play a lot of bot matches, I also agree that it would be very nice if the matches get saved automatically.

As of now only when you play through the chessup it records the game. I believe that’s something they are working on.

Chess.com is going to start recording all bot games - but we do not have the exact date this goes into effect yet.

We will share the date once we know. If the date is too far out, we will find another solution
