re: Lessons with Chessup 2
I just tried a lesson for the first time, I looked at the Morphy Opera Game as I am well versed on that game (it was the first miniature my coach had me memorize).
All I can say is “Very well done”.
If the other lessons are like this one then the Chessup 2 will be one of the best e-boards currently out there, if not the best.
The lights are very helpful going through variations to get the board back to where it shoudl be.
Easy to follow, clearly narrated, very good experience.
The combination of the lightweight board, the piece size, the lights, and the lessons make it a very good buy. (Just needs a few more things … )
Just wanted to give my 21 cents on it (that is 2 cents at birth, adjusted for inflation).
I’ve tried both “Interference” and “Intermediate move” lessons. It’s not working great as the board(?) fail to regognize quite a few of the moves. Resulting in me having to press play. Anyone else with this problem?
We will need to revise the move recognition and relay to the app in lessons - it is a known issue and affects people more if the board has noise from the charger.
don’t know if this has been mentioned - on ‘openings’ in beginners the black rook square A8 remains purple when pieces are set up and the lights don’t work for moves, they kind of flicker & go a bit mad. I tried it twice & the same both times - I can’t upload videos b/c i need the app open on my phone but the 2nd pic here is supopsed to be “move the black pawn the
Went to play some lessons today and noticed on a couple of them that a blue square lights up at the start of the lesson and doesn’t turn off. When this happens the lesson doesn’t continue to play until I press play to resume.
I was playing Intermediate Removing the defender. This doesn’t happen on every lesson.
Updated to 3.2 and restarted. Same thing happens on Android and iOS.
Btw, lessons have been amazing! One of my favorite features!
