BlueTooth connection

I just received my ChessUp 2 and everything has gone very smoothly (thanks for. great product). I have the board setup and connected to the ChessUp app and Chess.com. However I then tried to use chessconnect with chess.com and it isn’t seeing the board to connect to (in preferences for the extension I choose chessup).

Am I correct that I should be able to get this to work? Should I see an icon on the board related to bluetooth (I am just seeing the Wifi and power icons) or is there anything I should be able to see in settings on the board related to bluetooth?

Sorry for starting with such a basic question - just figure there maybe somewhere obvious I should be looking. As I said everything else has been incredibly smooth.

All I know is that the device you use must have BLE. Regular BL only doesn’t work.

It is supposed to work - but please follow up with ChessConnect to troubleshoot. We are not able to troubleshoot the ChessConnect software ourselves:

@DaveMurrells check out this forum. I had some issues getting it to work at first as well and Jorn helped me get everything squared away. He had me send him some console logs, he found the issue and then sent me a new beta version to try and it fixed the problem. Best of luck.

Hi @Criptix,

How do I know if my laptop has BLE or not?

For windows:

  1. Open the Start menu and type “Device Manager”
  2. Click to open Device Manager.
  3. Scroll through the list of devices and look for “Bluetooth”
  4. You need to see BLE in the bluetooth list.

Normally all pc’s with bluetooth that are not to old have this but for ex my Msi Apache pro with windows 10 doesn’t. To old I think.

Thanks, I’m on Linux but just noticed that “BLE is part of Bluetooth 4.0 and higher”. Since I have a bluetooth chip with bluetooth 5.1 I guess I’m good. However, my chessup board refuses to connect and I’m having a hard time figuring out why. Any idea?

I would contact the Developer like PBK_Studio said a few posts above here. I know Linux but haven’t got a dual boot config for the last 2 years. So I can’t help.
