Board editor bug

This is a obscure bug that does NOT affect gameplay but… here is how to replicate it.
1.Set up a mate in one on board editor.
2.Click play as the side that can mate.
3.Checkmate your opponent. The board should light up indicating a checkmate.
4.Click play as the non-mated side.
5.Capture your opponent’s king.

The board cuts to a chess up logo underneath of which is a blue rectangle.

To return to normal function restart (off and on again) your board.

I don’t know but the chessup folks might want to fix this in the next update.
PS. I won’t be able to reply this post for 7 hours so I will just edit this.

Thanks - yes known bug. Board editor leads into code that was not ready for illegal positions.

We will get that updated in a future release (5.0.0)

Was going to start a new topic, but my issue may be related.

I can’t use the board editor at all - I set up a legal position (K v K +R, e.g.) and try to play it, and the board flashes to tell me the board is set up wrong.

Mine was delivered with a faulty piece so I have been exclusively using the editor. Apart from once I needed to restart the board all has worked well.

The AI can be a little funky but as I am a perpetual beginner maybe it knows more than me!

The board flash is saying it is ready to play.

In a future release the user interface of the board editor will dramatically improve. It will allow the user to set up many styles of games from the setup (2 player, player vs Ai, etc).
