Board stops counting moves with low time on clock

Twice now, back to back, the board stopped counting moves with less than 30 seconds left on the clock in a 15|10 game on chess.com using the app.

I got the board yesterday. Is this a known issue?

Hi there, welcome to the community! :waving_hand:

Yes, there have been a few reports of the move detection slowing down or missing fast moves in the final seconds during online play (especially with blitz or rapid and increment).

A few things to try: β€’ Make sure your board firmware & the app are both fully updated
β€’ Try a different USB-C power source during games (low battery can affect sensors)
β€’ If possible, test whether the issue happens in a local/offline game too

It would also help the team if you could share: β€’ App version
β€’ Firmware version
β€’ Platform (Android/iOS)
β€’ Whether Bluetooth signal was stable

Thanks for reporting this β€” the more details we collect, the easier it is for the team to track down the cause :raising_hands:

No this should not happen. Unless you have a white king piece that is faulty - were the moves with a white king? (If so - contact us for a replacement info@bryghtlabs.com).

Also - any particular reason you are using the app with the ChessUp 2? We recommend using the ChessUp 2 without the app, directly though WiFi.

If you can provide a link to the game - that would help us resolve it.
