Will online play be available in the future?
That would be fun - but checkers does not have the necessary player pool size for online play at this time. Maybe there could be a feature to direct challenges in the future.

Looks awesome, glad I got my checkers set this week.
Would it be possible to disable this feature in the settings? I prefer not to see stuff that not used.

@Jeff thank you for releasing the checkers and addressing our concerns. We just played few games of checkers and unfortunately noticing some glitches, some squares start flashing purple or get stuck with blue light when pawn makes move (happy to send you video if needed), this happens in both AI and 2 players mode, but seems to affect only white pieces right now. Sometime when touching the piece we would also see green and red lighting up squares as if we were playing chess with assistance. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Some of the issues will likely be resolved in a release we have in a few days that adds a way to calibrate the checkers (one time process). I want to confirm that is the root issue. Plus the green lighting should not have happened and I would be very curious to see that.

Hey. I saw the the ChessUp 2 updated with the Checker feature. I wanted to check it out. But the white pieces, aren’t registering, and it is the same for the a couple black pieces, too. The black works on both sides, but I can’t get the white to register.
@Jeff thank you for the prompt hot fix, I played couple games after the 1.7.3 and after the checkers calibration and so far it’s been responsive and without glitches

Was the app connected at this time by chance?
Please try Settings->Checkers Mode Calibration
(with the board empty)
It is available on 1.7.3 firmware released this morning
It wasn’t connected to the app, but honestly since the calibration this morning and playing few checkers and chess games, I don’t see those issues. I’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
Should’ve bought the package with the bag(purchased later) and the checkers( now I want a set)…live and learn but will order a set soon.

Best guess is it was a low battery condition and just a fluke random event.
Each LED tells the LED next to it what color to be (they are all chained together). For this it looks like the message got corrupted along the way. That should be a really really rare event, but with low battery it becomes more likely.
Ok, I’m officially worse at checkers than chess. Not sure how to feel about that lol.

Thank you. I’ve updated my board to version 1.7.3. Though, the pieces are trying to register.

I’m not in any rush. Take the times. I am happy waiting a few days or more.
I’m happy I took the checkers pieces, never played this game before and kind of enjoy it. Thing I’ve noticed is it seems pieces are not well recognized, if you put black pieces on the white place and you play as white, it mixes up both colors and thinks white are black and viceversa. Is it a known issue ?
