Chess.com bot strength on chessup2 the same?

Hi all,

I just got my chessup 2 board last week and I’m loving it!

So I’ve played against a couple of chessdotcom bots, some I’ve defeated before, others I’ve now beaten for the first time on this board. In fact, I haven’t lost a game yet against chessdotcom bot on the board, even against bots that I thought were still a size to large for me. Meanwhile I’ve also played the same ones in the chessdotcom app, there I actually still lose against them quite often.

So my question is: is there any indication that the bots perform worse over the board then on the chessdotcom app?

Off course I’d like to attribute the otb wins to myself playing better otb, but for me to conclude that I have to rule out the other possibilities :grin:

Same bots and same strength. Chess.com hosts the bots - and they do not change based on using a smart board or not.

I personally think that this normal for chesscom bots. You can try play against single bot multiple times using only chesscom or chessup and get different results (you can try to save and analyze the “elo performance”).
It seems to me that chesscom bots have simply some variance in its performance, even if they are “normal”, not “adaptive” bota, this might be the case here.
