Hey. During one of my online games on chess, without any warning, the board conceded the game mid-game, as if I had clicked the end game icon myself, but I hadn’t clicked anything. I’ve only had one such instance so far. Here’s the link to my game on chess
I’m sorry to hear that the ChessUp2 resigned your game.
I reviewed the logs for this game - do you think it’s possible the captured white queen bounced on the touch screen? The game logs show the resignation originated on ChessUp2, at the same time the qg3→Qh5 was moved physically on the board.
I’ll speak to our UI designer about this - should be able to fix this with some changes to make that touchscreen interaction more resilient.
I remember something like I simplified my hand or something when I captured the queen, but I don’t remember exactly what happened now. So maybe what you wrote could have caused the game to end.

FYI at this - Richard has come up with a solution to make the resign confirm button harder to hit. The confirm location will be different than the “resign” initiation. This will make it very very very hard to hit AND confirm by accident.
Thanks for reporting.
Obviously, the position was equal, so there was a chance to win. It’s hard, but the most important thing is that you improve your product and pay close attention to such errors.

And to clarify - what happened here is an accidental press of the resign button (which does not resign the game, but launches a “confirm resign?” button) - and then accidentally hit confirm resign too.
That is the first time we have heard of that happening, but with a hand or piece on the screen it is possible to unknowingly hit buttons.
Resign is a function of the menu, and the board will retain that function. We are just going to make it so it is 1 in a billion rather than 1 in a million to hit both buttons by accident.
We are also considering resign on a different screen (screen carousel) which will further protect it.
The best practice is still not to place pieces or hands on the screen during play unless intending to resign.
Sorry for the lost game.
