New Board - pieces not recognised in set up

Our ChessUp2 Board arrived yesterday (late Christmas present) and we cannot get the Board to recognise any pieces. We have

  • Connected the board
  • Logged into Chess.com
  • Upgraded the Firmware
    And are at the point of calibrating the board. When you use the QR code on the board, the app launches instructions for calibration. But those instructions say to ‘hold both settings buttons’ and our board doesn’t have these setting buttons to press. Only the squares appear on the board. There are no buttons other than the on/off switch on the side.

Anyone have any tips?

We have emailed support, but looking to get a quick response (I have a very excited 12yo wanting to play with his already late present)!

Calibration is for ChessUp 1. No calibration is required for ChessUp 2. See this post

Thanks for responding. So it looks like our board doesn’t work then, because no pieces are recognised no matter what we do.

Same issue here, how can I get it to work?

When you open board editor, does the board recognize any of the pieces?

I guess you already now but just in case… white pieces at the Chessup 2-logo and black pieces on the other side?

Make sure to fully charge board. If nothing works after a charge, please let us know the order number and we will replace. Sorry for the issue

Thanks for the update, I fully charged the board and tried again, but the lights aren’t turning on. I’ll send an email as suggested
