Play Bots and Live Games Workaround

I use this workaround to play the monthly bots before they’re added to the built in touchscreen, but it also works to play live games. Helpful if there’s a bug preventing you from playing (like right now).

Could this be also used as a work around to play against the coach bots that have been removed from the API?. Obviously not ideal but may be helpful for the people who enjoy playing against them.

I just tried and the moves didn’t transmit, so I don’t think so.

If I want to play with the Coach Bots, I follow these steps:

  1. Open Chess.com in the Board menu.
  2. Open Chess.com in the Chessup app.
  3. Select “Play” in the Chess.com app.
  4. Select “Play against Coach.”
  5. Select a coach, skill level, and color, and you’re ready to go.
    All moves will be correctly transferred to the board.

I tried what you said pickup…but was not successful.

Dont open the chess.com on the board. Just leave it booted up on the main menu. Connect the app and work inside the app only. I played against the coach bot and that worked. The only downside is that I cant analyse the game with chess.com. It gives a error.

It doesn’t matter whether Chess.com is launched in the board menu or not—it works either way.
The game analysis also works—at least for me.
