Since I have installed the 3.1 update playing two player timed games mostly I have noticed I only have assistance on the first move. I have tried with hint limits turned on, and turned off. All levels of assistance. Am I missing something? I have reset the board.
3.1 should not have affected the assistance (should have made it better). Are you still experiencing issues?

Oh I see. The board is not on WiFi.
The reason there are green hints to start is that the board has an opening book installed. But once you leave standard openings - it needs WiFi to get the hints.
I literally played everyday until the update with hints. And, I did not have wifi connected. I have only connected wifi while playing on chess.com or to install the updates. I can upload another video of it working the game before this one without wifi connected. Oddly that was the only game to have assistance in the last month.
Yeah we used to use the internal Ai engine for hints - but the internal Ai was not great at hints. So we disabled it.
We can revisit in release 5.0 that comes with a stronger internal engine.
Sorry that dropped out - can you access WiFi?
Not sure that works on iOS. Well, I am sure it does not.
